Amanda Deane

Homeschool mom of two children ages 17 and 9. Amanda's son was diagnosed with autism which has led to a homeschool life that remains flexible in supporting unique needs, personality, and learning styles.

She is an innovator and the artist behind Flying Starlings, a community based non-profit and co-op that serves homeschoolers and the general public in and around Westport, MA.

Amanda began homeschooling in 2011 after her child was enrolled in the public school system. She is experienced in the removal process as well as how to incorporate tutors and therapies into a homeschool lifestyle.

Amanda is a huge supporter of utilizing play, acceptance, social experiences, art, and imagination and “free play” for the over all better health of ourselves and children. She is a strong believer that each child is uniquely made and should be uniquely taught.
